And some New Years Resolutions and Goals that I wrote a few weeks ago:
- Have more order and balance in life. No skipping meals.
- Start a company, living is expensive.
- Draw faster.
And some New Years Resolutions and Goals that I wrote a few weeks ago:
This year has gone by incredibly fast and I definitely can say it was a year filled with a lot of interesting experiences. I got to draw dissected cadavers, relearn how to drive and got a car (thank you mom and dad! ilu), almost got kidnapped (lol, more to come later), and I also spent 2/3 of the year working full-time at a mutual fund company and later at a tax consulting firm. C: 2011 was also my last year as a teen, and I’m not very thrilled to be turning 20 next year, I wish I could have accomplished more before turning 2 decades =|
I got a DSLR earlier this year and after half a year, I finally decided it was time to upload pictures from my camera to my computer, so this will be a very image heavy post xD I could have gotten my camera months earlier if Best Buy didn’t decide to wait almost 2 months to tell me they lost my camera in the mail, and then tell me I have to reorder again.
About two months ago,
we decided it was time to take up vampire hunting as a new hobby my mom decided to buy a basket-load of garlic, literally, to make sweet pickled garlic. I can’t really say if it turned out well or not because it needs to be pickled for 3 months, but I’m very excited since I love pickled garlic ouo
Went a business trip to London, Ontario and then to Winnipeg, Manitoba a few weeks ago. It was just constant work so I didn’t really get the chance to explore much and take pictures, but mainly because I was also exhausted after each work day. This was my view out of my hotel window at the Fort Gary in Winnipeg.
And a picture of the hotel lobby. It was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The dinning room was also absolutely stunning. But I was too chicken to take a photo since it was filled with business men in black suits and old ladies in cocktail dresses. I already felt out of place enough and didn’t want to stand out more by snapping photos xD
I almost got kidnapped when I was coming back from Winnipeg, or more like I really THOUGHT I was getting kidnapped. It was at night and I was walking through the airport looking for a place to call a taxi when a tall middle-aged man approached me and asked, “Do you need a taxi, Miss?” Being someone who has never called a taxi in her life, I wasn’t really thinking so I told him, “uhh… well actually yes.” So the guy takes my luggage from me and starts walking briskly out the door. At this point I felt that something was strange but I followed him out anyways. He led me to this unmarked van and opened the door for me and told me to get in. I got in hoping that maybe there would be some signs in the van that would identify the vehicle as a taxi like no-smoking stickers and the like. BUT THERE WAS NOTHING.
He started driving and then I started to panic and yell at myself for getting in to the van. Dx I kept looking back as he was driving to check if there were other guys hiding in the back because I was like, well, if it’s just one guy, I have a bit of chance of escaping but if there’s more than one I am so totally doomed. While in the car, it came to me that I should probably call my mom and tell her where I was xD So I picked up the phone, and he didn’t point a gun at me or anything so I was like, okay, I can probably make it out of this alive 8D In the end, the guy was pretty nice, and got me home safely, though he charged about twice as much as a normal taxi would =/ I didn’t really want to argue with him about the price since I just wanted to get out of the van as soon as possible lol.
When I got home, I did a bit of research and realized that I got on a illegal taxi. But I didn’t know there was such things as illegal taxis so I really thought I was getting kidnapped and sold somewhere. So kids, watch out for unmarked vans. Don’t get on them.

My sisters and I made a gingerbread house a few days before Christmas. The icing was very hard and difficult to put on, we should’ve warmed it up more before we started. But overall, I’m very satisfied with it. My next ambition will be to build a gingerbread CASTLE haha >:D
There was no snow on Christmas this year but it started snowing 2 days later. It was very beautiful as it fell since there was no wind and everything looked so white and peaceful.
And a photo with flash so you can actually see the snow falling.
I took this from my Waterloo apartment balcony in the evening. My friends and I live on the 12th floor so we get a really nice view of the sky.
A few months ago, Keith (my housemate) was making onigiris but unfortunately for him, he lives with Cappy and me. So we stole his food and made people out of them !8D
I took some photos of my dinning room during Christmas. The painting in the mirror was my attempt at replicating Caravaggio’s “The Calling of St. Matthews.” I never finished the painting; I came home one day and realized the painting had disappeared from my washroom and my parents had stole it to put it up in our dinning room. OTL
We had a wasp problem in our house last summer. Around 20 dead and/or very weak wasps would appear in our living room everyday for about 2 weeks. They liked to fly around my head at night because I always work late in to the night. They also liked landing on my tablet and hands and preventing me from drawing ;__;
Then one day we found over 80 dead wasps scattered throughout the first floor of our house and we never found anymore after that day. It was like their “Hoe Gwang Ban Jo” for anyone who’s read Shin Angyo Onshi. ;A;
I just finished 2 weeks of school and my first midterm is next week! So much things to do, so I’ll keep this post short.
I was looking through some really old photos and I found the cutest thing, kittens. (I have an obsession with all cute and fluffy baby animals btw) Last year there were a bunch of stray kittens hiding out in our backyard behind this large slab of concrete we had leaning against the side of our fence. I forgot my camera that day so I had to borrow my parent’s old camera so I’m sorry for the bad photo quality.
And here’s two more little kitties wondering around amidst some of our tomato plants near our deck.
[EDIT] You all must go check out this group’s webcomics: Click ! They have the most insanely gorgeous and detailed background art I’ve ever seen in any comic ;A; I’ve only looked at the first two but I’m sure the rest are super fantastic as well.
Back to work.
I was flipping through photos in my camera and I found a picture of my dorm room from university. So this is what my room looks like for any stalkers out there who are interested lol. I was up on the 11th floor of that building and I had a huge window in my room that covered a whole wall. It was always insanely bright even with my blinds closed. I wished I could’ve got more plants and larger ones but I didn’t have a car, and I couldn’t exactly carry anything huge with me on a 3-hour bus ride from home.
My dad built a pergola on our porch in our backyard completely from scratch. The four supporting pillars go 4 feet underground I believe and it took a hell long time digging the hole by hand. We had a neighbour come over telling us that it’s sturdy enough to have a second floor built on top of it. He also told us that he built his own cottage.
We’re planning to have wisteria climb on top of the pergola. However so far our wisteria is only about a pitiful 50 centimeters tall xD I wonder how many years it’s going to take for it to fully cover it.
There was also a 5.0 earthquake today at 1:45 PM where I live. I was reading the newspaper and suddenly my chair started shaking. The first thought that went through my mind was god dammit, I better not be having a seizure D8<, until I saw that everything else was shaking too. My mom was worried that they bombed the CN Tower in protest of the G8 and G20 summit before it was confirmed that the tremors were caused by an earthquake. Though in my opinion, the CN tower isn’t really worth bombing, but since it’s about one of the only landmarks we have, I guess it’ll just have to do. The tremors only lasted for about 10-15 seconds and I heard it didn’t cause any serious damages. Everyone was just shocked because earthquakes are almost unheard of where I live. I want an “I survived a Toronto earthquake” t-shirt. NOW.
